Abstract: Introduction Trichomoniasis is the most prevalent non-viral sexually transmitted infection (STI) in the world, affecting ~4.1% of women and ~1.3% of men aged 40–59 in the United States. Women with T. vaginalis are at 2- to 3-fold increased risk for acquiring human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).
