BROOKLYN, NY — April 13, 2021 — scite, an award-winning platform for discovering and evaluating scientific articles has joined the ScholarOne™ partner program to allow mutual customers to access scite’s Reference Check service from within ScholarOne — the comprehensive workflow-management system for scholarly journals, books and conferences from Clarivate.

The scite Reference Check is a novel system that automatically identifies how references in manuscripts have been cited by other studies, highlighting which have been supported or contrasted in the literature. Additionally, articles that have been retracted will also be flagged by the Reference Check service. This allows customers to perform a rapid assessment of the submission as part of the initial review process.

 Checking individual references to see if they have been supported or contrasted by other studies and/or to see if they have been retracted is not common practice because of how time-consuming and laborious it is if done manually. The scite Reference Check automates this process allowing manuscript references to be easily checked against the literature. The integration makes this automated service available to thousands of journals through ScholarOne.
