Background. An inner health picture (IPH) includes a person's image of him-or herself as healthy, and knowledge of the methods needed to achieve the behavior necessary to maintain his (her) health. The IPH of a preschooler is formed by his (her) parents, and the high level of physical activity which is needed for supporting his (her) IPH could change a child's capacity to orient in sensory flow.Objectives. The objectives of this study were twofold: 1) to compare the children's IPH with that of their parents, and 2) to study the connection between a child's IPH with his (her) capacity to recognize consistent patterns in the structure of a stream of sensory signals.Design. 82 primary school children and their mothers participated in the study. The study was conducted in two stages. During the first stage, the internal picture of health (IPH) of the children and their parents was evaluated by means of a questionnaire. To describe a child's ability to discern some kind of order in a stream of sensory signals, the models of simple and complex sensorimotor reactions were used.Results. Parents whose children have a well-developed IPH steer their children toward a healthy lifestyle, whereas they themselves do not do what is necessary to maintain their own health. The process of developing an IPH is accompanied by an increase in control during performance of a serial reaction task, which is reflected in a decrease in the number of lapses or missed stimuli. Conclusion. An IPH is an internal mental model that not only predetermines a child's notion of themselves as a healthy person; it also has a psychological basis in the form of a system that strengthens the child's control over his (her) own actions.
We evaluated the state of health of the mother and child at birth, and the probability of the diagnosis of cancelation in the child at the end of the second year of life. The sample consisted of 100 mother-child dyads. The complex assessment of the children's health status was based on the individual medical records. Mothers filled the questionnaire evaluating the mother's relation to her child during the first 2 years of life, and the questionnaire aimed at assessing the emotional intelligence level. Almost all the children at birth have one or the other diagnosis. There is a positive connection between the number of the diagnoses in the first-and second-year-old children during their stay in the maternity ward and perinatal pathology factors of the mother. But by the end of the second year of life in 60% of the children, these diagnoses were canceled. The healthier the mother, the more positive the prognosis with regard to the child's health within the first 2 years of living is. Positive prognosis with regard to the first-year-old children's health depends upon the acceptance of the child by the mother: the higher the value on the scale of acceptance-nonacceptance is, the better the child's health is.
Introduction. The problem of improving the process of organizing and supporting the project and research activities of schoolchildren through intelligent management for the purpose of self-organization of the individual, understanding and comprehending complex mathematical knowledge as a principle of personal development is relevant and far from solved. Intelligent systems provide the process of individualization of learning, the establishment of personalized and computerized feedback of cognitive and creative processes. The purpose of the article is to assess the student's readiness for research activities in the context of designing a hybrid intelligent learning environment. Materials and methods. The assessment of the student's psychological readiness for research activities in the conditions of using a hybrid intellectual environment was carried out on an experimental representative sample of students of 1-2 courses of secondary vocational education (n1=42) and students of the senior classes of secondary schools (n2=30). The diagnosis was carried out using the intelligence structure test of R. Amthauer, the creativity questionnaire of D. Johnson, the test "Individual styles of thinking" by A. Alekseev, L. Gromova, the methods of value orientations by M. Rokich, etc. The significance of the differences was established by means of Student's t-test, Fisher's angular transformation, χ2-test. The results of the study. The assessment of psychological readiness for research activities in mathematics was carried out on the basis of the developed nine parameters of scientific potential. The presented results allow us to pre-set the framework of boundary conditions in order to minimize the imprinting time of a hybrid intelligent system (including the selection of the neural network topology). For all three groups of criteria, differences by gender were established, for example, by the parameter "value orientations" (temp = 2.26 > tcr = 2.02); by the parameter "creativity" (χemp2 = 6,02 ≥ χcr2 (0,05;2) = 5,99). And also by the type of educational institution, for example, by the parameter “motivation to achieve the result” (φemp = 0,186 > φcr = 1,64). Conclusion. The results of the research are of practical value, as they serve as a technological basis for establishing the boundaries and boundary conditions of the most significant parameters for the effective realization of scientific potential, expressed in the work of a specialized web interface created with the student's personal account.
Introduction. The paper analyses the interrelation between a person’s cognitive control and their inner picture of health, which is a component of the person’s conscious attitude to one’s health, at different stages of ontogenesis. The purpose of the research is to analyze the relationships between the level of one’s executive functions development (inhibitory control and working memory) and the level of the internal picture of health (hereinafter IPH) in primary school age, adolescence and early adulthood. Materials and Methods. The research into how executive functions (inhibitory control and working memory) and the IPH are interrelated was based upon the analysis and study of scholarly literature and the experimental work which involved methods of inhibitory control assessment (Vergunov, Nikolaeva), a technique for assessing visual working memory (Rasumnikova, Savinykh) and a quick modified child’s diagnostic technique (Nikolaeva et al.) used for assessing the IPH. The obtained data were processed by means of the quantitative and qualitative data analyses methods and the SPSS-21 programme pack. The total number of the experiment participants was 262 people, among them primary schoolchildren (9.8 ± 0.8 years, n = 66), adolescents (12.8 ± 1.5 years, n = 101) and university students (20.4 ± 1.3 years, n = 95). Results. It was found that neither of the working memory parameters was associated with the IPH level in any of the three groups. The inhibitory control, however, had different interconnections with the students’ IPH at different age stages. It was found that only in adolescents the inhibitory control is closely associated with the IPH, which is proved by their independent decision-making regarding their behaviour and attitude to health at this age. The found interconnection decreases in early adulthood, which may indicate the presence of some additional factors affecting both the IPH and inhibitory control. Conclusions. The connection between the IPH and the person’s executive functions depends on the person’s age and it is most evident in adolescence.
