Under high-temperature action and ferrostatic pressure, the surface layer of the lining is densified, and we note the formation on its surface of highly viscous quartz glass, which holds back the penetration of metal and slag components deep into the lining. Its wear occurs as a result of erosion and corrosion from the surface.Of the working parameters the greatest influence on the wear rate is exerted by the metal temperature during pouring from the converter. The increase in this temperature increases the corrosion rate. A reduction in metal and slag temperature during argon blowing reduces the wear rate of the lining. Comparison of CITED
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
