Laser vaporization of metallic tin is used to generate Sn, molecules in effusive and supersonic expansions. Laser-induced fluorescence studies using isotopic samples of '"Sn established the correct vibrational numbering in the excited FO; and determined the Sn, molecular constants. From the convergence limit of the upper state the Sn, dissociation energy was determined to be 15 330*25 cm-', in good agreement with recent ab initio theoretical predictions.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
