The aim of this work is to determine the effect of draft ratio and twist level on core visibility ratios of dual-core yarns. For this aim, different types dual-core yarns containing PET/Elastane were produced under controlled conditions. To objectively evaluate the visual quality of the dual-core yarns, the frequency of the core filaments appearing on the yarn surfaces was counted on dyed knitted fabrics produced with these yarns by using image processing algorithm. The results showed that the draft ratio and the twist coefficient were the important factors influencing the core visibility ratios of dualcore yarns. It was found that the core covering performances of the pre-treated dual-core yarns produced with the lowest twist coefficient in the study were more incomplete than the others. Moreover, it was seen that the higher draft ratio on PET filament led to well wrapping of sheath staples to core filaments for dual-core yarns.
ÖZET: Bu çalışmada, denim kumaşlara uygulanan rinse, taş ve ağartma yıkama işlemlerinin, farklı atkı-çözgü tipleri ile üretilen denim kumaşların bazı fiziksel özellikleri üzerindeki etkileri istatistikî olarak yorumlanmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda kullanılan atkı-çözgü tipinin, yıkama işleminin ve bu iki faktörün kesişiminin kumaşların kalınlık, gramaj, renk değişimi ve hava geçirgenliği değerleri üzerinde % 95 önem seviyesinde anlamlı etkisi olduğu görülmüştür.Anahtar Kelimeler: Denim kumaş, yıkama, hava geçirgenliği, renk değişimi.
THE EFFECTS OF WASHING TREATMENTS ON PHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF DENIM FABRICSABSTRACT: In this study, the effects of rinse, stone and bleaching washing treatments on some physical properties of denim fabrics, which were produced with different weft-warp types, were interpreted statistically. The results show that weft-warp type, washing treatment and interaction of these two factors have a significant influence on thickness, weight, color change and air permeability values of denim fabrics with 95% significance level.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
