Background: Sarcoidosis is a granulomatous disease of unknown aetiology. Over 90% patients of sarcoidosis present with pulmonary findings. Other organs such as lymph nodes, skin, and joints may be involved. Isolated granulomatous disease confined to the spleen is rare.
Words from the Underwood and Richardson norms were presented for free recall. The 5s were either instructed before word presentation (informationbefore) or after word presentation (information-after) that the words could be categorized. There was also a no-information control group. The 5s were presented one of two lists equated for mean response dominance, but differing in response dominance variability. The primary results of interest were that the information-before group clustered significantly more than either the information-after group or the no-information group, between which there was no difference. The information-after group recalled fewer words than either the information-before group or the no-information group, between which there was no difference. The groups receiving the lowvariability lists clustered significantly more than the groups receiving the high-variability lists, while words recalled did not differ. These results held for both an immediate recall and a 48-hr, recall. Clustering did not decrease significantly from the immediate to the delayed recall.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
