Social and environmental reflections for a geohistorical study of the Nova Vivência Settlement, Sapé Municipality, Paraíba State, Northeast Brazil. This paper aims to present a geo-historical approach, having as its main focus the socio-environmentalism, taking as an example the Nova Vivência Settlement, in the rural area of Sapé, Paraíba. It is, therefore, a historical and social perspective, which will consider a settlement community, as a group that represents a form of struggle against the oppression of landlord capital, which has removed man from the countryside. Thus, it is a resignified struggle, in the models of the indigenous uprisings that occurred in colonial Brazil, or in the formations of the quilombos that legitimized the freedom of man, associating him with the land. Thus, in modern times, rural settlements are the result of an extensive struggle for land in Brazil, therefore, nuclei capable of contributing effectively to the provision of quality food to the population as a whole, always taking into account the conscious use of the environment, in a harmonious interaction with ecosystems.
