330O conceito de stress foi introduzido na área da saú-de, em 1926, pelo médico austríaco Hans Selye para designar a Síndrome Geral de Adaptação, a qual é ocasionada por diferentes agentes noviços que debilitam o organismo, enfraquecendo-o e o levando ao adoecimento (Lipp, 1996;Pafaro & Martino, 2004). Selye, em 1956, descreveu esta síndrome salientando que o processo de stress se desenvolve por meio de três fases: alerta, resistência e exaustão (Alchieri & Cruz, 2004 ABSTRACT Stress, depression and quality of live in beneficiaries of social programs Stress, in response to aversive situation, can be associated to poverty condition. Also depression, while a disorder that affects the relationship of the individual with environment, often related to socioeconomic difficulties. Both refer to a low quality of life. This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of stress and depression and the perception of quality of life in beneficiaries of social programs. Data were collected with 198 participants, mostly women, and 58% had stress and 41% indicative of depression. The average perception of quality of life ranged from 43.0 in the environment domain to 54.9 in the psychological, in a scale from 0 to 100. The results indicate that the sample didn't have more stress than the people in general. However, this group showed indication of depression and perception of quality of life more unfavorable. Stress, depression and quality of life were correlated.
RESUMO. Para pessoas com deficiência auditiva (DA) severa ou profunda pode ser indicado o implante coclear (IC), dispositivo implantado na orelha cirurgicamente. Há um número significativo de crianças com DA e outras comorbidades, entre elas o Transtorno do Espect ro Autista (TEA). O objetivo desse estudo foi compreender a vivência de mães de crianças com IC e diagnóstico de TEA. O estudo foi de natureza qualitativa e o método utilizado foi a investigação fenomenológica, que consiste na apreensão do fenômeno tal como ele se manifesta para a pessoa que vivencia. Foram entrevistadas seis mães de crianças usuárias do IC e com diagnóstico de TEA. Os depoimentos foram submetidos ao processo de análise fenomenológica e se desvelou em sete categorias temáticas: O impacto das múltiplas deficiências; Dedicação exclusiva aos filhos; "Vinte e quatro horas correndo atrás"; "Só está faltando ele falar"; "O implante coclear foi uma bênção na minha vida e na dele"; Necessidade de apoio psicossocial; Como se sentem atualmente. As mãe s revelaram como são afetadas subjetivamente na sua relação com o filho com IC e diagnóstico de TEA, indicando impacto negativo na qualidade de sua vida. O IC significou a possibilidade de seu filho participar do mundo sonoro e elas poderem ter mais acesso ao mundo deles. A esperança no desenvolvimento da fala de seu filho passa a ser o sentido para continuarem a trajetória. De staca-se a necessidade de serviços de suporte aos pais, a importância do trabalho em equipe interdisciplinar e o estímulo à rede de apoio.Palavras-chave: Implante coclear; autismo; relações mãe-criança. COCHLEAR IMPLANT AND AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER: THE EXPERIENCE OF MOTHERSABSTRACT. Cochlear implant (CI), a device surgically implanted in the ear, may be indicated for people with severe or profound hearing loss (HI). A significant number of children are affected by HI and other comorbidities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The objective of this study was to understand the experience of mothers of children with CI and diagnosis of ASD. The study had qualitative nature and the method used was phenomenological investigation, which consists in the apprehension of the phenomenon as it manifests itself to the person who experiences it. Six mothers of children with CI and diagno sis of ASD were interviewed. The statements were submitted to the process of phenomenological analysis and were unveiled in seven thematic categories: The impact of multiple disabilities; Exclusive dedication to the children; "Twenty-four hours running after it"; "The cochlear implant was a blessing in the life of both of us"; "It is as if he were speaking"; Need for psychosocial support; How they feel now. The mothers revealed how they are subjectively affected in their relationship with the child with CI and diagnosis of ASD, indicating negative impact on the quality of their life. RESUMO Objetivo Identificar a concepção dos participantes sobre o uso dos cenários e personagens da ferramenta My World para o treinamento de habilidades sociais educativas cotidianas com mães de crianças e adolescentes com deficiência auditiva. Métodos Estudo exploratório sobre a análise dos relatos dos participantes quanto ao uso dos cenários e personagens da ferramenta para desenvolvimento de práticas parentais positivas. O estudo foi desenvolvido em uma clínica-escola de Fonoaudiologia de uma faculdade do interior do estado de São Paulo, Brasil, com três mães de crianças com deficiência auditiva, que realizavam terapia fonoaudiológica naquele local. Para coleta dos dados, foi aplicado um questionário sobre os elementos da ferramenta. Resultados Observou-se que os elementos da ferramenta parecem ter contribuído para que as mães identificassem mais concretamente dificuldades e facilidades na interação com seus filhos com deficiência auditiva. Conclusão Acredita-se que este estudo possa auxiliar na implantação de ferramentas que favoreçam a participação dos familiares no processo de reabilitação auditiva, contribuindo, assim, para maior probabilidade de sucesso terapêutico.
