Resumo: A melancolia, que influenciou o estado de espírito de muitas épocas, veio a ser determinante nos humores do Barroco do século XVII e marcaria, ao longo dos últimos séculos, uma subjetividade carregada de contradições, ora proporcionando a apatia, a hesitação e a inércia, ora provocando a constituição de elementos de ação e de visão crítica por intermédio da linguagem de múltiplas significações da alegoria. Nessa mesma perspectiva, a análise benjaminiana do drama barroco alemão, serviu de base para a constituição de um método inovador de pesquisa filosófica e que pode contribuir decisivamente para a compreensão "monadológica" dos conteúdos de verdade dispersos na realidade histórica.
O presente artigo apresenta as relações entre uma ideia de vida, presente no empreendimento do filósofo Walter Benjamin, e a perspectiva deste de reestruturação da compreensão da política na idade contemporânea. Mais precisamente, remontamos alguns traços e desdobramentos do projeto de Benjamin de escrever um livro sobre a relação entre vida e política. As correspondências e rascunhos do período indicam que a obra deveria possuir três partes. Tendo em vista a estrutura pensada por Benjamin para essa obra, nosso trabalho visa principalmente a exposição das especificidades da segunda parte desse projeto, intitulado “A verdadeira política”. Realizaremos aqui uma breve avaliação crítica das relações entre o corpo vivo humano (Leib) e o corpo material (Körper), da condição da vida enquanto mera vida (blosses Leben) e de seus desdobramentos na compreensão da violência e do poder (Gewalt) sobre a vida.

Resumo: Nos propomos a interpretar o enigmático "Fragmento teológico-político" (1920)(1921) à luz das noções de niilismo e de felicidade contidas em escritos de Walter Benjamin de seu projeto de uma obra sobre as relações entre política e vida. Nossa hipótese é a de que o fragmento somente pode ser compreendido tendo em vista os estudos sobre o "problema psicofísico" e ao se considerar as reflexões do filósofo sobre as relações entre mito, natureza e história. Essas reflexões surgiram no contexto da tarefa de avaliação sobre a possibilidade de uma "vida mais elevada" e da "continuidade da vida" em um "corpo vivo" histórico. Benjamin buscava elementos críticos que tivessem a capacidade "messiânica" de redimir as limitações da vida impostas pelas atuais configurações de poder e de violência da atualidade. Nos valeremos da análise de diferentes trabalhos de Walter Benjamin elaborados no período de juventude do pensador, assim como, nos valeremos igualmente da avaliação de algumas das principais ideias que exerceram influência na constituição de seus trabalhos no período.

O artigo apresenta alguns aspectos da juventude do pensador Walter Benjamin (1892-1940). Esse período foi marcado pela recepção de uma proposta pedagógica que visava “reformar a vida” reformando, para isto, a escola e a cultura juvenil. Benjamin foi influenciado por essa proposta ao estudar em um colégio reformista em Haubinda e teve a figura do pedagogo progressista Gustav Wyneken (1875-1964), diretor da instituição, como sua primeira referência. Desse período restaram marcas que acompanharam a obra do filósofo, sobretudo aquelas que relativas à peculiaridade de sua crítica da cultura e pautadas nas noções de vida, de experiência e de formação.
