With the growth in the machinery and agricultural implements sector the importance of the area of Product Development Process (PDP) has expanded significantly in the last decades. The surge is due to increased competition among manufacturers, thus requiring high quality products with greater efficiency in their production processes.In addition, the management of the phases that comprise the PDP is considered complex by specialized literature and manufacturing companies. Thus, the objective of the study is to present the main reference models that contextualize the PDP in order to systematically analyze its methodological classifications.In addition, the research seeks to explore the work methodologies currently applied in the PDP of the agricultural machinery and implements manufacturers located in the northwestern region of Rio Grande do Sul -Brazil. The research adopted the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) and the case study as investigation methods, classified as descriptive and comparative, of an exploratory nature. As a result, it was possible to identify a set of reference models that are usually adopted to operationalize the PDP. Research has shown that project support tools are not used by companies, while design and industrial management tools are applied. Finally, it was verified that companies have little knowledge about reference models.
ABSTRACT:This study aims at presenting the process of machine design and agricultural implements by means of a reference model, formulated with the purpose of explaining the development activities of new products, serving as a guideline to coach human resources and to assist in formalizing the process in small and medium-sized businesses (SMB), i.e. up to 500 employees. The methodology used included the process modeling, carried out from case studies in the SMB, and the study of reference models in literature. The modeling formalism used was based on the IDEF0 standard, which identifies the dimensions required for the model detail ing: input information; activities; tasks; knowledge domains; mechanisms; controls and information produced. These dimensions were organized in spreadsheets and graphs. As a result, a reference model with 27 activities and 71 tasks was obtained, distributed over four phases of the design process. The evaluation of the model was carried out by the companies participating in the case studies and by experts, who concluded that the model explains the actions needed to develop new products in SMB.KEYWORDS: product development process, reference model, prototypes. PROCESSO DE PROJETO DE MÁQUINAS E IMPLEMENTOS AGRÍCOLAS: DIRETRIZES PARA EMPRESAS DE PEQUENO E MÉDIO PORTESRESUMO: O objetivo foi apresentar o processo de projeto de máquinas e implementos agrícolas por meio de um modelo de referência, elaborado com o propósito de explicitar as atividades de desenvolvimento de novos produtos, servindo de diretriz na capacitação de recursos humanos e para auxiliar na formalização do processo em empresas de pequeno e médio portes (EPM), ou seja, até 500 funcionários. A metodologia utilizada abrangeu a modelagem do processo, realizada a partir dos estudos de casos nas EPMs e do estudo de modelos de referência descritos na literatura. O formalismo de modelagem utilizado foi baseado na norma IDEF0, que identifica as dimensões necessárias ao detalhamento do modelo: informações de entrada; atividades; tarefas; domínios de conhecimento; mecanismos; controles e informações produzidas. Essas dimensões foram organizadas em planilhas eletrônicas e esquemas gráficos. Como resultado, obteve-se um modelo de referência com 27 atividades e 71 tarefas distribuídas sobre quatro fases do processo de projeto. A avaliação do modelo foi realizada pelas empresas participantes dos estudos de caso e por especialistas da área, que concluíram que o modelo explicita as ações necessárias ao desenvolvimento de novos produtos nas EPMs.

Resumo -O objetivo deste trabalho foi identificar as prioridades de requisitos de projeto, de postos de operação de tratores agrícolas do mercado nacional brasileiro, conforme as normas de ergonomia e segurança. Compuseram a amostragem os tratores agrícolas de pneus de borracha novos, com bitola externa superior a 1.150 mm, sem quaisquer alterações em suas características originais por parte do fabricante ou revendedor, em comercialização em território nacional, quanto à disposição interna dos comandos de operação, aos assentos e aos acessos dos postos de operação. Como análise comparativa dos requisitos dos clientes destas máquinas e, conseqüentemente, a hierarquização dos requisitos necessários ao projeto de postos de operação, que são atendidos pelos fabricantes de tratores agrícolas, foram utilizadas as ferramentas para o desenvolvimento de projetos diagrama de Mudge e a primeira matriz do "quality function deployment", respectivamente. As marcas de tratores agrícolas nacionais apresentam a mesma prioridade quanto ao atendimento aos requisitos de projeto de ergonomia e segurança em postos de operação. Requirement priorities for the design of tractor workplaces related to ergonomics and safetyAbstract -The objective of this work was to characterize the requirement priorities for workplace design of agricultural tractors of the national market, as per standards of ergonomics and safety. The patterns were composed by agricultural new tractors rubber tires, with minimum gauge of 1,150 mm, without any alterations in their original characteristics on the part of the manufacturer or reselling, in commercialization in national territory, related to the internal disposition of the operation commands, to the seats and to the accesses of the workplaces. As comparative analysis of the customer requirements for of these machines and, consequently, the hierarchization of the necessary requirements for the project of workplaces which are assisted by the manufacturers of agricultural tractors, the tools for the development of design Mudge diagram and the first head office of Quality Function Deployment where used. The marks of national agricultural tractors present the same priority related to requirements for ergonomics and safety designs in of workplace operation. During the product development, patents help identify new project opportunities and, if well analyzed, can reveal technical strategies in terms of how countries, companies, and universities link patents and product development. In the context of the agricultural machinery sector there is a complexity in the integration of data from patents with the stages of development conceptions. In this context, the article aims to present how the information obtained from a patent bank can be used for the development of agricultural machinery. As a methodology, the Systematic Bibliographic Review was selected to identify and relate strategies that add value throughout the agricultural machinery project. As a result, research has shown that the use of patent information can assist in the development of agricultural machinery from technical data. In addition, patents are characterized as a valuable source of technological information, as it is inexpensive and capable of feeding a company in its own research activity and in the development of new products. It is concluded that the information from patents, suggested as strategies in the model of agricultural machinery development, allows for managerial and technical decisions aimed at improving products. Finally, the research contributed to fill the information gap between patents and the development of agricultural machinery, a diffusion of data that, if well connected, can promote a competitive differential in companies.
Different models of rainfall simulators have been developed over time, and the use of electronics has allowed achieving higher levels of production and control. On this subject, the aim is to present the development of a technical system for automated generation of simulated rain. The study was divided into two stages. In the first stage, the development of the automated system for generating simulated rain was carried out. In the second stage, tests were conducted to verify the functioning of the proposed system. The result are: (i) concept of the system developed is compound by a sensor of flow rate, pressure and temperature, digital display, interface cable of computer and four buttons that allows the setup of the simulated rain (the plot of land, time and volume of water to produce the simulated rain). It can be programmed up to 240 parcel, maximum time each experiment of 240 minutes and the volume of rain according to the pump used. (ii) to check the functioning of the electronic system, a test in the laboratory was done. During the automated operation, the system measured pressure (kPa), water flow (L min -1 ), temperature (ºC), and time (minute). The operation was evaluated and it was concluded that it enable the automated generation of simulated rain and that under the experimental conditions studied (without the influence of wind, natural rain or sun), the 17 repetitions totaled 510 minutes of experiments, in which time the prototype showed neither failures in programming or measurement errors of the sensors.Keywords: automation, electronics, simulated rainfall, hydrology, water and soil.
