Pretendemos perpassarmacrofilosoficamente os impactos deste processo no pensamento das esquerdas e das direitas,destacando especialmente suas consequências nos planos do Direito e do Estado, no Brasil, mastambém em âmbito internacional. Perdemos a capacidade de travar quaisquer embates ideológicos efomos inoculados pelo vírus do horror à polêmica, à radicalização e à diferença. No plano jurídico,abre-se terreno para a falaciosa preponderância de um Direito supostamente racional, lógico, técnico.Será possível enfrentar o árido deserto da desideologização, recuperando o lugar da Política comocontradição viva, democracia verdadeira e imaginação do futuro?
O presente ensaio, redigido para a REVICE, busca revisitar questões centrais da Teoria do Estado, especialmente aquelas que se referem ao poder e à necessidade de dividí-lo para garantir a liberdade. As técnicas horizontais e verticais de separação de poderes surgem como instâncias necessárias ao Estado de Direito. O federalismo é investigado, criticado e repensado à luz da experiência brasileira, da tradição mineira e do contraponto a ele oferecido pelo municipalismo, mas se afirma como técnica intimamente conexa à liberdade, à democracia e ao desenvolvimento político.
O ensaio busca recuperar experiências acerca das novas tecnologias de informação e de comunicação e sua aplicação no universo educacional, especialmente no plano do e-learning e da educação a distância, enfrentando ainda os riscos de degeneração da sociedade do conhecimento em sociedade da ignorância.
