Introduction: The riparians population is considered vulnerable to Sexually Transmitted Infections due to restrictions related to access to health, information and education.Objective: To analyze the prevalence of self-reported Sexually Transmitted Infections among the riparians population and associated sociodemographic and behavioral factors.Material and Method: Cross-sectional, analytical study, conducted with 250 riparians dwellers from João Pessoa, Paraiba state, from June to October 2019. Data were collected through interviews using a structured questionnaire. Logistic regression analysis was performed. The research was approved by the Research Ethics Committee under opinion number 3,340,273.Results: The prevalence of Sexually Transmitted Infections was 20.8%. Male ribs (OR=3.27; CI95%:1.74-6.15), who reported sexual intercourse with sex workers (OR=6.54; CI95%:3.05-14.0) and illicit drug use (OR 2.13; CI95%:1.10-4.13) were more likely to develop sexually transmitted infection.Conclusions: High prevalence of sexually transmitted infections and presence of risk behaviors among riparians. Screening, early diagnosis and health education is essential for discontinuation of the transmission chain. Introducción: La población ribereña se considera vulnerable a las infecciones de transmisión sexual debido a cambios relacionados con el acceso a la salud, la información y la educación.Objetivo: Analizar la prevalencia de infecciones de transmisión sexual autoinformadas en una población ribereña y los factores sociodemográficos y conductuales asociados.Material y Método: Estudio transversal, analítico, realizado con 250 habitantes ribereños de João Pessoa, en el estado de Paraíba, de junio a octubre de 2019. Los datos fueron recolectados a través de entrevistas mediante un cuestionario estructurado. Se realizó un análisis de regresión logística. La investigación fue aprobada por el Comité de Ética en Investigación con el dictamen número 3.340.273.Resultados: La prevalencia de Infecciones de Transmisión Sexual fue de 20,8%. Hombres habitantes de la ribera (OR = 3,27; IC del 95%: 1,74-6,15), que informaron haber tenido relaciones sexuales con una trabajadora sexual (OR = 6,54; IC del 95%: 3,05-14,0) y uso de drogas ilícitas (OR 2,13; IC del 95%: 1.10-4.13) disipación mayores posibilidades de desarrollar una infección de transmisión sexual.Conclusiones: Alta prevalencia de riesgo de transmisión sexual y presencia de tendencia de riesgo entre los habitantes de las riberas. El cribado, el diagnóstico precoz y la educación sanitaria son fundamentales para interrumpir la transmisión. Ribeirinhos do sexo masculino (OR=3,27;IC95%: 1,74-6,15), que relataram relação sexual com profissional do sexo (OR=6,54;IC95%:3,05-14,0) e uso de droga ilícita (OR 2,13; IC95%: 1,10-4,13) apresentaram maiores chances de desenvolver alguma infecção sexualmente transmissível. Conclusões: Alta prevalência de infecções sexualmente transmissíveis e presença de comportamentos de risco entre os ribeirinhos. Rastreio, diagnóstico precoce e educação em saúde é fundamental para descontinuação da cadeia de transmissão.
Objetivo: Realizar o levantamento bibliográfico para verificação do comportamento sexual de risco em estudantes universitários. Método: trata-se de uma revisão de literatura nas bases de dados: Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE via PubMed), Ebsco, Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde, Web of Science e SCOPUS. Resultados: Foram encontrados 52 artigos, resultando em 10 amostras publicadas entre os anos de 2008 e 2017. Discussão: Com a conclusão do ensino médio, muitos jovens ingressam nas instituições de ensino nível técnico e superior, vivenciando uma fase de novas experiências. Diante da liberdade, entram em grupos sociais, se relacionam, e, apesar de alguns praticarem sexo seguro, outros apresentam comportamentos de risco. Conclusão: Existe uma necessidade de intervenções e educação em saúde para todas as faixas etárias sobre as circunstâncias que acarretam a transmissão de Infecções sexualmente transmissíveis e métodos de prevenção.
Objetivo: identificar as evidências científicas sobre os fatores e comportamentos de risco para as IST e as estratégias de prevenção na população rural. Metodologia: trata-se de uma revisão integrativa da literatura com buscas nas bases de dados SciELO, LILACS, Medline, PubMed e Cinahl. Resultados: 12 artigos compuseram a amostra, os quais foram agrupados em duas categorias. Os comportamentos e fatores de risco identificados foram: o processo de migração, a desigualdade de gênero e a multiplicidade de parceiros. E as estratégias de prevenção sugeridas mostram a necessidade de melhorias no acesso e a ampliação de políticas de prevenção e programas com foco nas formas de transmissão. Conclusão: Os fatores e comportamentos de risco para as IST em população rural se refletem em aspectos socioeconômicos, culturais e políticos, fazendo-se necessário a implementação de estratégias de prevenção que vise um cuidado integral voltado para essa população específica.
Introdução: A hepatite B destaca-se como uma importante infecção no cenário das populações vulneráveis, tanto pelos danos causados ao indivíduo como pelo impacto a saúde pública. Objetivo: Identificar a vulnerabilidade a hepatite B considerando características sociodemográficas, comportamentos de risco e situação vacinal dos trabalhadores da construção civil. Métodos: Estudo transversal, realizado com 381 trabalhadores da indústria da construção civil. Para a coleta de dados foi utilizado um questionário estruturado com características sociodemográficas e de comportamentos de risco (presença de tatuagens, história de transfusão sanguínea, compartilhamento de material de higiene, vacinação contra o vírus da hepatite B e uso do preservativo). Os dados foram processados e analisados por meio do Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Resultados: Houve predomínio de trabalhadores do sexo masculino (97,4%), com faixa etária de 30-39 anos (34,1%), casados (81,4%), com escolaridade de até oito anos de estudo (66,6%), com renda entre 1 a 1,5 salários mínimos (52,8%). Com relação ao comportamento de risco, 10% possuem alguma tatuagem ou um piercing no corpo, 4,5% deles tinham história de transfusão sanguínea. O compartilhamento de material de higiene é prática comum a 45,4% dos entrevistados. No que se refere ao estado vacinal, 95,5% dos trabalhadores não apresentaram o cartão de vacina, e mais de 55% não são imunizados para hepatite, segundo relato verbal. Dos 4,5% que apresentaram o cartão, 13,6% disseram ter recebido pelo menos uma dose para hepatite B. Quanto a frequência do uso do preservativo nos últimos 12 meses, 47,6% responderam que nunca o utiliza e 34,2% afirmaram utilizar às vezes. Conclusão: Os trabalhadores da indústria da construção civil apresentam comportamento de risco relacionado a compartilhamento de produtos de higiene, tatuagem e a baixa cobertura vacinal, segundo relato verbal.
Introdução: Trabalhadores da indústria da construção civil destacam-se como população vulnerável por serem considerados de risco às infecções sexualmente transmissíveis, ocasionado pelo perfil fragmentado da profissão, processo migratório e comportamentos de risco. Objetivo: Descrever comportamentos de risco que potencializam a vulnerabilidade às infecções sexualmente transmissíveis em trabalhadores da indústria da construção civil. Métodos: Estudo transversal, descritivo, realizado em João Pessoa e região metropolitana, no estado da Paraíba. Foram incluídos 381 trabalhadores com idade igual ou maior a 18 anos e atuantes na construção civil. A coleta de dados aconteceu no período de maio a agosto de 2018. Para a operacionalização da coleta, utilizou-se um questionário estruturado que contemplava questões sociodemográficas, de conhecimento, práticas e atitudes em relação às infecções sexualmente transmissíveis. A pesquisa foi aprovada pelo Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa sob número de parecer 2.572.581. Resultados: A maioria dos trabalhadores era do sexo masculino (97,4%), procedentes do interior (43,8%) e com escolaridade de até oito anos de estudo (66,6%). Apesar de 332 (87,1%) concordarem que o uso de álcool e drogas favorecem a prática sexual sem proteção, 240 (63%) informaram consumir álcool nos últimos 12 meses, dos quais 232 (96,7%) admitiram frequência de uso de pelo menos uma vez na semana. No tocante à prática sexual nos últimos 12 meses, 111 (46,25%) praticaram sexo com mais de um parceiro, 181 (47,6%) não utilizaram preservativos e 46 (19,2%) relataram ter tido alguma infecção sexualmente transmissível. Conclusão: Consumo abusivo de álcool, multiplicidade de parceiros e relações sexuais desprotegidas podem favorecer o aumento da vulnerabilidade às infecções sexualmente transmissíveis em trabalhadores da indústria da construção civil.
