RESUMO A partir principalmente de uma sequência de oito narrativas interligadas por uma risada do Jabuti, contadas pelo indígena macuxi Caetano Raposo, discute-se o riso e seus desdobramentos no contexto dessas narrativas. Além disso, busca-se leituras possíveis para o riso na organização social indígena macuxi, como o riso e seu aspecto questionador e de resistência diante da opressão.
Resumo: Erenkon são cantos indígenas da região do circum-Roraima. Este trabalho apresenta duas variantes desses cantos: o parixara e o tukui. Essas músicas estão ancoradas em um complexo sistema artístico, que envolve dança, música, instrumentos, coreografia, pintura corporal e a letra dos cantos. A letra dos cantos é aqui o foco central de estudo. A partir delas, ele analisa a repetição presente nesses cantos, principalmente em seu caráter paralelístico. Objetiva, com isso, pensar uma estética da repetição como traço estruturante dessas composições, projetando inserilas nos estudos contemporâneos de literatura. A metodologia de registro dos cantos ancora-se, principalmente, na História Oral e a análise, nos estudos comparativos e na interdisciplinaridade dos Estudos Culturais. Destaca-se a forte estética da repetição presente nos cantos, inserida em uma estrutura artística particular dos povos do circum-Roraima. Este artigo apresenta e analisa a lenda do Timbó, narrada pelo índio Taurepang Clemente Flores. A partir desse texto, discutem-se questões relativas ao trabalho com narrativas orais. O texto de Flores é concebido como literário; logo, a questão central deste artigo está na possibilidade de refletir sobre ol iterário fora do livro. Com isso, problematiza-se também o movimento entre periferia e centro; local, regional e global; e busca-se pensar a tensão velada, ou mesmo negada, quanto à existência de uma narrativa com valores estéticos oriunda das minorias, como indígenas.
