In patients at intermediate risk of CAD, hybrid imaging allows non-invasive co-localization of myocardial perfusion defects and subtending coronary arteries, impacting clinical decision-making in almost one every five subjects.
Our study demonstrates that excessive oversizing should be avoided in Perceval patients and suggests that a different sizing algorithm, possibly based on cardiac computed tomography, should be developed. Further studies are needed to optimize the sizing strategy for the Perceval sutureless valve.
The sizing of the device decided using CCTA in the phase of maximum LAA expansion reduces the risk of high-flow leaks and device malposition due to undersizing.
