12.1‐inch 169‐ppi full‐color micro‐LED display using LTPS‐TFT backplane has been successfully developed. Blue micro‐LED, whose size is less than 30 mm, was applied with red and green conversion materials to produce full‐color images. Contrast ratio of >1,000,000: 1 with brightness of 700 nits was realized by the full‐color micro‐LED display for high‐dynamic‐range display applications.

A 9.4-inch 228-ppi full-color micro-LED display using the flexible low temperature polysilicon thin-film transistor (LTPS-TFT) backplane has been successfully developed. In order to solve the interconnection of tiny micro-LEDs, those size are less than 30 μm, we introduced the flip-chip soldering technology for high-resolution flexible micro-LED displays. Contrast ratio of >1,000,000:1 with a brightness of 700 nits was realized by the full-color micro-LED display with uniform brightness and color shift free at any off-axis viewing angles. These supreme micro-LED visual performances will provide a more comfortable user experience for high-resolution flexible automotive applications.

In this paper, a 65‐inch blur‐free transparent LCD was presented. A simple way of controlling LC orientation was applied to suppress the issue of blurry images behind transparent LCD. Furthermore, the individual controllable RGBW sub‐pixels were used to improve the transmittance and realize the hybrid transparency on the display.

In this paper, a novel transparent light guide has been developed. Concave microstructures with partially random distribution were designed to reflect incident light and prevent moiré issue. Furthermore, a 12.1‐inch RGBW LCD was combined with the transparent light guide to demonstrate the transparent tablet scenario.
