Purpose The purpose of this paper is to identify the key facilitators and inhibitors of fitness wearable technology (FWT) adoption and the intention to recommend this technology. Design/methodology/approach An innovative and integrated research model was developed by combining constructs from two well-established theoretical models, the extended unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT2) and diffusion of innovation (DOI). The proposed research model was empirically validated using data collected from 392 respondents in China. The data was analyzed using the partial least squares method, a statistical analysis technique based on structural equation modeling. Findings The results indicate that performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, habit, compatibility and innovativeness have significant direct and indirect effects on FWT adoption and the intention to recommend it. The significance of people’s intention to recommend FWT to others in social networking sites (e.g. Facebook, Weibo, and WeChat) is also confirmed. Practical implications The findings may facilitate the design and implementation of FWT products, applications and functionalities that can achieve high consumer acceptance and positive recommendations in social networks. Originality/value This study is among the first to investigate FWT adoption from behavioral, social and environmental perspectives. It also highlights the importance of social marketing campaigns and suggests directions of future wearable technology adoption research.
Citizen satisfaction is a critical and decisive factor for persistent use of e-Government services as it can substantially impact on failure or success of e-Government projects. Main hurdle for e-government planners and practitioners in Pakistan is to find out the key determinants of e-satisfaction of their citizens. This article actually tries to identify the major factors that drive Pakistani citizen's e-Satisfaction while using Punjab Province Portal (http://www.punjab.gov.pk/) in Pakistan. After extensive relevant literature review we formulated 7 hypotheses and distinguished 7 different determinants namely trust, accessibility, awareness of e-services, quality of e-services, computer anxiety, customer expectations and security/privacy. A sample of survey data from 200 employees in 8 universities in different cities of Punjab Province of Pakistan was gathered to perform data analysis. Several key outcomes based on multiple linear regression and factor analysis were exhibited. These final results would help to understand the degree of satisfaction of Pakistani citizens. E-governmental policy-makers and practitioners both would be benefitted by this analysis and results of these determinants of e-satisfaction. Some recommendations and implications of our findings were also addressed at the end.
Objective of this article is to investigate the success (by determining citizen’s intention to use and satisfaction) of Land Record Information Systems (LRMIS) from perspective of Pakistan. The success of this egovernment information system is investigated using an incorporated IS success model. Model formulated here features constructs such as System Quality, Service Quality, and Information Quality, Perceived Risk, Perceived Ease of Use, Perceived Satisfaction, Perceived Usefulness, Awareness, Trust, Information Security and Behavioral Intention. The suggested incorporated research model of IS was validated using feedbacks taken from 250 citizens across different cities of Pakistan. Verifiable findings showed the positive and substantial linkage between all 17 hypothesized associations of 10 different constructs. Validated data-based outcomes and argumentations provided in this research can help government to enrich upon and to completely avail the potentiality of LRMIS as serviceable and an effective computer system toward a digital, secure, lucid and uncorrupted society.
Abstract-The use of social media especially community Q&A Sites by software development community has been increased significantly in past few years. The ever mounting data on these Q&A Sites has open up new horizons for research in multiple dimensions. Stackoverflow is repository of large amount of data related to software engineering. Software architecture and technology selection verdicts in SE have enormous and ultimate influence on overall properties and performance of software system, and pose risks to change if once implemented. Most of the risks in Software Engineering projects are directly or indirectly coupled with Architectural and Technology decisions (ATD). Advance Architectural knowledge availability and its utilization are crucial for decision making. Existing architecture and technology knowledge management approaches using software repositories give a rich insight to support architects by offering a wide spectrum of architecture and technology verdicts. However, they are mostly insourced and still depend on manual generation and maintenance of the architectural knowledge. This paper compares various software development approaches and suggests crowdsourcing as knowledge ripped approach and brings into use the most popular online software development community/Crowdsourced (StackOverflow) as a rich source of knowledge for technology decisions to support architecture knowledge management with a more reliable method of data mining for knowledge capturing. This is an exploratory study that follows a qualitative and qualitative e-content analysis approach. Our proposed framework finds relationships among technology and architecture related posts in this community to identify architecture-relevant and technology-related knowledge through explicit and implicit knowledge mining, and performs classification and clustering for the purpose of knowledge structuring for future work.
