International audienceIn this letter, a low-return-loss printed log-periodic dipole antenna (PLPDA) fed by a coaxial cable is presented. The widths of dipole elements are optimized to increase the bandwidth. A study of coaxial cable position is included in order to improve the antenna behavior. The measured return loss is lower than -15 dB from 2.1 to 4.3 GHz. The measured gain varies between 6 and 7 dBi. The measurements, including input impedance, gain and radiation patterns, and simulations are in agreement
In this paper a high gain antenna array designed for High Power Microwaves applications (HPM) is presented. The antenna array is composed of four sub-arrays of four rectangular patch elements. These one are air based in order to limit losses and enhance radiating efficiency. The power is transmitted to each sub array through slot which is machined in a waveguide fed by a monopole antenna. A full set of measurements has been performed. The measured gain reaches 19 dBi and the efficiency is better than 80 %.Index Terms-antenna array, high-gain, high power, low loss.I.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
