Introdução: o novo coronavírus vem atingindo preferencialmente a saúde da população idosa, considerada grupo de risco para o desenvolvido da doença. Objetivo: descrever atividades educativas e orientações fisioterapêuticas voltadas ao combate à pandemia do COVID-19 para idosos residentes na cidade de Santa Cruz/RN. Metodologia: trata-se de um relato de experiência realizado por discentes e docentes do projeto de extensão universitária “Acolhendo Memórias” sobre ações audiovisuais voltadas para o público idoso durante o período de isolamento social. Resultados e discussão: foram realizadas atividades em redes sociais e meio radiofônico sobre medidas de prevenção ao COVID-19, objetivando orientar com linguagem acessível essa população. Considerações finais: as ações desenvolvidas contribuiram para uma melhor assistência e qualidade de vida da população idosa.
Objetivo: Identificar por meio de uma revisão, a existência de checklists para desmame e extubação em pacientes cardiopatas. Método: Este estudo é caracterizado como uma revisão integrativa de literatura, de abordagem descritiva e de caráter qualitativo, que se deu por meio do levantamento de artigos científicos que tivessem relação com o objetivo do estudo. Foi realizado um levantamento nas bases de dados da National Library of Medicine (PubMed); Scopus; PEDro; e Lilacs. Os critérios de inclusão foram artigos que tivessem relação com a temática proposta, publicados nos últimos 10 anos, disponíveis na íntegra e sem restrição de idiomas. Enquanto que os critérios de exclusão foram artigos de revisão bibliográfica, artigos ou resumos que estivessem sido publicados em anais de congresso, monografias e teses; além de cartas de editores e preprints. Resultados: Foram encontrados um total de 189 artigos, nos quais todos tiveram seus títulos e resumos lidos, posteriormente a isto, 186 artigos foram excluídos por não atenderem aos critérios de elegibilidade, restando 3 artigos que foram lidos criteriosamente na integra, após leitura completa, 2 artigos foram selecionados. Considerações finais: Diversos fatores podem interferir no processo e desfecho do desmame ventilatório, bem como nos resultados positivos após a extubação. Como fator mais importante, destaca-se que a ausência de protocolos de desmame aumenta o número de extubações não programadas. Sendo necessária a investigação com maior rigor metodológico e aplicação de ferramentas específicas para este grupo que sofre diversas interferências clínicas no seu sucesso de desmame e extubação.
INTRODUÇÃO: As deficiências físicas ocasionadas pelo Acidente Vascular Cerebral (AVC) podem estimular os pacientes a manterem um baixo condicionamento físico e se tornarem cada vez mais sedentários. O comportamento sedentário tem efeitos prejudiciais à saúde, incluindo um maior risco de incidência de doenças cardiovasculares. OBJETIVO: Verificar se existe correlação entre o tempo sentado e o comprometimento motor de membros inferiores em pacientes pós-AVC. MÉTODOS: Trata-se de um estudo observacional, de caráter transversal, onde foram analisados pacientes com diagnóstico clínico de AVC na fase crônica, de ambos os sexos. O tempo sentado foi analisado por meio da seção 5 do Questionário Internacional de Atividade Física (IPAQ) e a função motora por meio da Escala de Fugl-Meyer - subseção de membros inferiores (MMII). Os participantes foram avaliados em uma única sessão, com duração média de 1 hora. RESULTADOS: A correlação pelo coeficiente ρ de Spearman entre a Escala Fugl-Meyer MMII e IPAQ-tempo sentado durante a semana foi de r= -0,639 (p=0,008) e IPAQ-tempo sentado durante final de semana foi de r= -0,603 (p=0,013). Os pacientes passam 11,59 horas/dia durante a semana e 12,15 horas/dia durante o final de semana na posição sentada. CONCLUSÃO: Os resultados mostram uma relação negativa entre as variáveis estudadas, sugerindo que quanto maior o comprometimento motor dos MMII, maior será a média de tempo sentado do indivíduo após AVC.
INTRODUÇÃO: A Paralisia Facial Periférica (PFP) é resultante da disfunção do nervo facial. A incapacidade de mover o rosto tem consequências sociais e funcionais para o paciente. OBJETIVO: Analisar a relação entre comprometimento motor facial e bem estar em pacientes com PFP. MÉTODO: Trata-se de uma pesquisa de caráter descritivo, observacional, do tipo transversal. Os critérios de elegibilidade consistiam em ter diagnóstico de paralisia facial e estar sendo atendido na clínica escola de Fisioterapia da FACISA. A amostra foi constituída por 20 pessoas com PFP. Os pacientes foram avaliados por uma ficha de avaliação sociodemográfica e pelos instrumentos: Escala de House-Brackmann (HB) e o Índice de Incapacidade Facial (IIF).Utilizou-se o coeficiente de correlação de Spearman para analisar o grau de correlação entre HB, IF e o tempo de lesão. RESULTADOS: Os participantes foram 65% do sexo feminino, a mediana da idade foi de 50,5 anos, o tempo de lesão foi de 3 a 331 dias (mediana 17,5 dias), a etiologia predominante foi idiopática 65%, e ambas hemifaces foram acometidas em igual proporção (50%). Quanto as características clínicas da PFP, o nível de comprometimento motor facial graduado pela escala de HB obteve mediana 4, o IFF-física obteve mediana 60. IFF-função social obteve mediana 38. Nas correlações entre HB, tempo de lesão e IFF, foi observado que os valores obtidos indicaram que não houve correlações estatisticamente significantes. CONCLUSÃO: Mesmo que o nível de comprometimento motor facial esteja acentuado, não houve correlação com o bem-estar dos participantes.
