The paper describes the process of modelling domain knowledge of Information Science (IS) by creating an Ontology of Information Science domain (OIS). It also reports on the life cycle of the ontology building process using Methontology, based on the IEEE standard for development software life cycle process, which mainly consists of: specification, conceptualization, formalization, implementation, maintenance and evaluation. The information resource used in acquisition and evaluation has been obtained from Information Science. The conceptualization consists of identifying IS concepts and grouping them into a hierarchy tree based on a faceted classification scheme. The OIS ontology is formalized by using the ontology editor Protégé to generate the ontology code. The achieved result is OIS ontology which has fourteen facets: Actors, Method, Practice, Studies, Mediator, Kinds, Domains, Resources, Legislation, Philosophy & Theories, Societal, Tool, Time and Space. The model is evaluated using ontology quality criteria to check the ontology's usefulness, and how it could be transferred into application ontology for Information Science education.
Mobile and Wireless technologies has been used in various areas, and it begins to have a huge impact on how education takes place in several disciplines. This technology has been improved considerably, making mobile devices extraordinarily suitable and reasonable in M-Learning a reality. Wireless Response System (WRS) is a developed generation of Student Response System (SRS). It uses devices that enable students and trainers to provide definite responses to many questions during the lesson with an immediate feedback to the students about their level of knowledge and understanding. However, teaching in Arabic language needs some specific features which have been included in the existing WRS and the steps of implementing them are considered in this paper. The developed version of WRS seeks to increase the users’ interactions and engagement through adding a new function to WRS which is Arabic language. Nevertheless, some universities and institutes in Arab world signed strategic corporations with mobile service providers to start this type of services for their education branches. This paper contains an analysis of ICT penetration and the level of m-learning environments in Arabic countries.
Information Science (IS) is an ambiguous field as its boundaries overlap with other domains such as Archive Science, Library Science and Computing Science which requires defined clear definition. This study creates a systematic and comprehensive ontology targeted to explore IS boundaries and foundations. This paper uses Mereotopolgy theory to describe classes, instances and their relations. The classes are created based on taxonomy of IS to create an asserted model of Information Science Ontology (ISO) that can be as a skeletal foundation for knowledge base. The main classes are Actors, Method, Practice, Studies, Mediate, Kinds, Domains, Resources, Legislation, Philosophy & Theories, Societal, Time, and Space. The design is based on Methontology to create ISO from scratch. Its framework facilitates the construction of ontology at the knowledge levels. It is found that identifying the IS boundaries through implementation ontology workflow is encoded using Protégé and Web Ontology Language (OWL) for formalizing and representation of the ISO. ISO is an effective way to represent knowledge and overcome semantic heterogeneity, ISO is a fundamental integration between semantic that realizes the interoperability information of the domain.

The Ontocop consists of a number of experts in the subject area around the world. Their feedback and assessment improve the ontology development during the creating process.The findings of the research revealed that overall feedback from the IS community has been positive and that the model met the ontology quality criteria. It was appropriate to provide consistency and clear understanding of the subject area. OIS ontology unifies information science, which is composed of library science, computer science and archival science, by creating the theoretical base useful for further practical systems. Developing ontology of information science (OIS) is not an easy task, due to the complex nature of the field. It needs to be integrated with other ontologies such as social science, cognitive science, philosophy, law management and mathematics, to provide a basic knowledge for the semantic web and also to leverage information retrieval.
