In comparison to single agent DOX, the combination of DOX-CDDP results in higher but acceptable toxicity. The response rate produced is significantly higher, and a modest survival benefit is achieved with this combination regimen, especially in patients with a good performance status.
This study demonstrates the activity of both the GC and IC regimens. There was toxicity associated with both regimens. Additional studies of combination chemotherapy regimens are required.
Addition of epirubicin to TC did not improve survival or time to treatment failure in patients with advanced epithelial ovarian cancer; therefore, it cannot be recommended for clinical use in this population.
