Genus Myristica represent one of important taxon in kingdom plantarum in Indonesia meaning if evaluated from number of species, distribution of species, and role for society. Result of publicizing indicate that there are 9 species Myristica in Indonesia representing original crop and distributed the round of main island in Indonesia. Member of genus Myristica this type of a lot of exploited upon which the food, industrial raw material, construction material, etc. Because that's important role hence the effort conservation must be done in order to the Myristica sustainability can be taken care of.
The objective of this study was to found on composition and structure of vegetation of upstream Cianjur Watersheds at the montane zone Mt. Gede Pangrango National Park. Research sampling conducted by using plot method placed purposive random sampling at research location with increase elevation equal to 300 m from sea level. Every 300 m elevation level, were taken 10 sample plots so that up to 1600- 2400 (montane zone) totalize plot were 30. Measured parameter cover density, frequency, dominancy, Important Value Index (IVI), Diversity Index (H'), and Evenness (E). The subdividing pattern plot had been done through cluster analysis. Result of research indicatethat species puspa (Schima wallichii) and rasamala (Altingia excelsa) were two species with highest Important Value Index, so that both species considered to be dominant the community. The species diversity index (H’) equal to 3.78 categorized to high, but the evenness value (E) was categorized to low (1.26). The phenomena happened because the distribution of species was heterogeneous. The Cluster Analysis indicated that there were three sub-groups which can be categorized as sub-zone in sub-montane zone were the sub-zone lower, middle and high.© 2008 Jurusan Biologi FMIPA UNS SurakartaKey words: structure and composition, vegetation, montane zone, Mt. The objective of this study was to found the composition and structure of vegetation at the upstream Cianjur Watersheds. Research sampling conducted by using plot method placed purposive random sampling at research location with increase elevation equal to 100 m from sea level. Every 100 m elevation level, were taken 5 sample plots so that up to 1000-1500 (sub-montana zone) totalize plot were 30. Measured parameter cover density, frequency, dominancy, Important Value Index (IVI), Diversity Index (H'), and Evenness (E). The subdividing pattern plot done through cluster analysis. The result of this research indicate that species puspa (Schima wallichii) and rasamala (Altingia excelsa) were two species with highest Important Value Indeks, so that both species considered to be dominant the community. The species diversity index (H') equal to 3,38 categorized to high, but the evenness value (E) was categorized to low (1.95). The phenomena happened because tha distribution of species were heterogenous. The Cluster analysis indicated that there were three subgroups which can be categorized as sub-zone in sub-montana zone, namely the sub-zone lower, middle and hight.
The main purposes of the research were to support taxonomic evidence data in particular of palinology spesies classified in Myristicaceae family at Java and determine phenetic relationship as an effort of increasing objectivity and repeatability of classification result. Pollen was collected in Herbarium Bogoriense and Bogor Botanical Garden, and prepared for light and Scanning Electron Microscope. Acetolysis method was used for light microscopy of the pollen preparation, and coating with gold was prepared for SEM. Phenetic relationship determined using coefficients of correlation and association.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
