Hinterland Gothic: Subtropical Excess in the Literature of South East Queensland

Abstract: South East Queensland’s subtropical hinterlands—the mountainous, forested country lying between the cities of the coast and the Great Dividing Range—are sites of a regional variation of Australian Gothic.
