Fatores de risco para câncer cervical e adesão ao exame papanicolau entre trabalhadoras de enfermagem

Abstract

O objetivo foi verificar a presença dos fatores de risco para o câncer cervical e identificar a adesão ao exame papanicolau em auxiliares e técnicas de enfermagem de 20 serviços de atenção primária à saúde, em Fortaleza-CE-Brasil. Estudo descritivo, realizado de outubro 2008 a janeiro de 2009, envolvendo 77 mulheres. Coletaram-se os dados através de entrevista estruturada, disponibilizados em tabelas e tratados com frequência absoluta e relativa. Evidenciou-se que 71,43% das mulheres usavam anticoncepcional oral; 19,48% fumavam ou já fumaram; 61,04% tiveram sexarca entre 15 e 20 anos; 77,92% não faziam uso sistemático do preservativo; 22,07% conheciam a importância do exame e 84,40% o faziam anualmente. A maioria aderiu ao exame ginecológico periódico, contudo algumas apresentaram fatores de risco para o câncer cervical. Ressalta-se a necessidade de uma intervenção educativa direcionada a essas mulheres.
