May 2026 Release Notes

May was about giving you more room to work and more ways to organize what you find. We introduced a new plan for power users, brought a better way to organize your research into the platform, taught Assistant to read your own documents, and expanded the data you can reach through Scite. Here's everything that's new.

Pro Plan

We've introduced Pro, a new plan for researchers who are using Scite heavily and want higher usage limits and expanded access. If you've been bumping into the ceilings of a standard plan, Pro gives you more headroom without needing an institutional agreement.

Pro is fully self-serve: you can upgrade in a few clicks and start using the additional capacity immediately.

Collections

Collections is a better way to organize your research. Building on what you knew as Dashboards, Collections let you group the papers that matter into curated sets you can return to, monitor, and build on over time.

• Organize as you go. Save papers into Collections so the research you do in Scite accumulates instead of starting over with each search.
• Monitor what matters. Keep an eye on the literature in each Collection as new citations and findings come in.

This is the first step in a larger investment in Collections — expect more ways to capture and organize your research in the months ahead.

Assistant Uploads

You can now upload a PDF or document directly to Assistant and ask questions against it. Bring your own paper, report, or manuscript into the conversation and Assistant will engage with it alongside Scite's index of 280M+ sources.

This means you're no longer limited to what's already indexed — you can analyze your own source material, ask for summaries, check claims, and explore connections, all grounded in real citations.

Devices & Regulatory Data in the MCP

We expanded the data available through the Scite MCP to include medical-device and regulatory sources: MHRA, MAUDE, and Device 510(k) data. If you connect Scite to an MCP-compatible AI client, you can now pull these regulatory signals alongside literature, patents, clinical trials, and grants — all in one place.

Boolean Query Generation in Search

Search now includes Boolean query generation. Describe what you're looking for in plain language, and Scite will build a structured Boolean query you can run and refine — making advanced, precise search accessible whether or not you're fluent in Boolean syntax.

Smarter, More Organized Assistant Chats

A couple of improvements to make Assistant easier to live in day to day:

• Automatic chat naming. Your Assistant conversations are now named automatically, so your research history stays organized and easy to navigate.
• Manual renaming. Prefer your own labels? You can rename any chat yourself.

A New Subscription Page

We redesigned the subscription page to give you clearer visibility into your plan and usage. You can now see what you're subscribed to and how you're using Scite, all in one place.
