越南南部发现掌突蟾属一新种(两栖纲:角蟾科)

Abstract: We describe a new species of megophryid frog from Phu Yen Province in southern Vietnam. Leptolalax macrops sp. nov. is distinguished from its congeners by a combination of the following morphological attributes: (1) body size medium (SVL 28.0–29.3 mm in three adult males, 30.3 mm in single adult female); (2) supra-axillary glands present, creamy white; ventrolateral glands indistinct; (3) tympanum externally distinct; (4) dorsal skin roughly granular with larger tubercles, dermal ridges on dorsum absent; (5) r… Show more

“…We used the primers 16SL-1 and 16SH-1 from Hedges (1994) to amplify ∼537 base pairs of the 16S rRNA mtDNA gene for the new species. For PCR conditions and primer sequences see Poyarkov et al (2015), Nguyen et al (2018) and Duong et al (2018). PCR products were sent to Evrogen (Moscow, Russia) for subsequent purification and sequencing in both directions.…”

“…With the development of DNA barcoding technology and extensive fieldwork, more and more cryptic species in this genus have been reported. From 2016 to 2020, a total of 28 species were described (Eto et al 2016(Eto et al , 2018Rowley et al 2016Rowley et al , 2017aYang et al 2016Yang et al , 2018Yuan et al 2017;Duong et al 2018;Hou et al 2018;Nguyen et al 2018;Wang et al , 2019Chen et al 2019Chen et al , 2020Hoang et al 2019;Li et al 2020;Luo et al 2020). The discovery of these species indicates that the species diversity of the genus is underestimated, and there still may be a large number of undiscovered cryptic species.…”
