Abstract: Metallic indium and some of its compounds with various types of chemical bonds are investigated by means of X-ray and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). In the first part of this work emission InLyz, 3-lines (transition L1-N2, 3) and In&, 3 XPS are obtained. The splitting of the Ly2,3-lines is detected for I n and the spin-doublet N2,s-level parameters are measured.
