Socio-demographic factors related to children’s knowledge about their rights to healthcare services in transitional Albania

“…This might explain why a higher proportion of boys report to be unaware about their healthcare rights in Albania. However, in developing and poor countries, as well as traditional societies, it seems that women underutilize healthcare services more than men ( 19 ), due to a mixture of educational, economic, institutional and cultural factors and barriers ( 19 , 20 ). In this light, transmission of prevailing social norms and values to younger generations seems to be more important in shaping children’s knowledge and attitudes toward healthcare services, including healthcare rights.…”
