Abstract: REC members are encouraged to attend at least one day of training a year 1 . Davies et al 2 have recently noted an apparent general dearth of training provision in Europe for research ethics committee members and, although the UK provides a number of courses, the National Research Ethics Service' s Bulletin for March 2008 has identified a general trend that REC 'members are not undertaking continuing education'.There are, however, plenty of English language web-based courses available for interested REC member…
