Waveguide Energy-Selection-Filter Switch Array

Abstract: This paper presents a waveguide energy-selection-filter switch (ESFS) array for high-power microwave protection, which has a nonlinear transmission response depending on the power intensity of the incident wave. A prototype of nine unit-cells loaded with pin diodes is designed and measured. First, the relationship between the unit-cell dimension and frequency response is analyzed by the full-wave simulation, and an equivalent circuit is studied with numerical fitting. Then, the non-linear characteristics of th… Show more

“…Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) provides an alternative solution. [ 133–139 ] As illustrated in Figure 10a, the virtual aperture is synthesized with effective dimension larger than the physical metamaterial aperture which moves at xoy ‐plane to take coherent processing of multiple interrogations of an object/objects. Assuming M scattering points, SAR system can be mathematically expressed as g=140%truemγmamejωRmc where g is the received signal, γ m is the reflection coefficient, a m represents antenna gain and round‐trip path loss between the m th scattering point and the receiver, R m is the length of the round‐trip path, ω is angular frequency of the transmitted signal and c is the speed of light.…”
