“…The characteristic m / z value of 1‐octen‐3‐ol ( m / z 57) was eliminated during feature selection because of the presence of relatively high concentrations of MOSH in the paperboard samples. 1‐Octen‐3‐ol stemmed from the autoxidation of unsaturated lipids present in wood pulp or from fermentation processes within the process water circuit . Also m / z 44, a characteristic m / z value of hexanal (relative contribution: 100%), was eliminated during feature selection because of the presence of CO 2 , an impurity in the used carrier gas.…”
