Abstract:Background: Sunlight exposure, the main source of endogenous vitamin D synthesis, may increase the risk of non-melanoma skin cancer (NMSC) development. Vitamin D receptor (VDR) polymorphisms are associated with 25(OH)D levels, cancer development and insulin resistance.
