“…We consider papillomatosis of the vulvar vestibule as a normal variant in the vulvar vestibule architecture, not directly related to infection by the HPV in agreement with others [6,9,15,16,17,18,19,20]. Based on our findings, we believe that papillomatosis of the vulvar vestibule should not be treated, avoiding unnecessary procedures in this way, as well as harmful emotional reactions on part of the patients, many still virgins, who may erroneously presume themselves infected by a neoplasm-inducing and sexually transmissible virus.…”

Exaggerated anticipatory anxiety is common in social anxiety disorder (SAD). Neuroimaging studies have revealed altered neural activity in response to social stimuli in SAD, but fewer studies have examined neural activity during anticipation of feared social stimuli in SAD. The current study examined the time course and magnitude of activity in threat processing brain regions during speech anticipation in socially anxious individuals and healthy controls (HC). Method Participants (SAD n = 58; HC n = 16) underwent functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) during which they completed a 90s control anticipation task and 90s speech anticipation task.

“…Our case met the clinical criteria for VVP proposed by Moyal-Barracco et al . [ 2 ] Our diagnosis was confirmed dermoscopically. Our patient’s dermatoscopy revealed multiple cylindrical projections distributed regularly, each with a separate base, confirming our diagnosis.…”

“…The projections have conglomerate vascular structures and are more white and broader than vestibular papillae; this might correlate with the hyperkeratotic and acanthotic features of condyloma acuminata (Fig 3). Therefore, along with the five clinical parameters suggested by Moyal-Barranco et al, 3 we believe that characteristic dermatoscopic findings provide additional diagnostic clues to differentiate vestibular papillae from condyloma acuminata. Because vestibular papillae are unfamiliar to clinicians, they may be misdiagnosed as condyloma acuminata, leading to inappropriate treatment.…”
