Velocidade instantânea: uma proposta de ensino inspirada em Galileu

Abstract: Pesquisas em ensino de física indicam que o processo de limite é um obstáculo no entendimento do conceito de velocidade instantânea por estudantes em cursos introdutórios de física. Autores medievais, contudo, conseguiram definir o conceito sem uso aparente do processo de limite. Galileu Galilei explorou as ideias medievais para estabelecer as leis da queda dos corpos. Seus métodos inspiram uma alternativa de ensino do conceito de velocidade instantânea.
