Vector Properties of Forward Stimulated Brillouin Scattering in Standard Single-Mode Fibers

Abstract: Torsional-radial guided acoustic modes in standard single-mode fibers are stimulated by pump tones of linear and orthogonal polarizations. The same acoustic modes induce photo-elastic birefringence. Circularly polarized pump waves can generate acoustic vortex beams.
