Vanadium Contribution to the Surface Modification of Titanium Silicalite for Conversion of Benzene to Phenol

Abstract: AbstractVanadium oxide supported on the surface of titanium silicalite was investigated in benzene hydroxylation to determine its activity as heterogeneous catalyst. Effect of vanadium loading on structure and activity of titanium silicalite was investigated. On the basis of X-ray diffraction and infrared spectroscopy techniques, it was found that the titanium structure was remained on the modified catalyst. The catalytic activity of the modified catalyst was observed to be higher than that of parent catalyst… Show more

“…This fact is also in accordance with research of Ngaosuwan et al (2021), which stated that the incorporation of La2O5 into CaO with the physical mixing method also reduced the intensity of the diffraction pattern of CaO. Mulyatun and Prasetyoko (2011) stated that the V2O5 catalyst with an orthorhombic crystal structure contributed peaks with high intensity at 2θ of 20.28º; 26.15º and 34.31º.…”

“…The 2% V2O5 metal oxide contributed to the acid site formation in the CaO catalyst, which favored the esterification reaction in biodiesel production from WCO. Both the Lewis and Brønsted acid sites were found in V2O5 metal oxides(Mulyatun & Prasetyoko, 2011). This result is also obtained byAlmeida et al (2016), whom stated that V2O5 addition to SiO2 catalyst formed Brønsted and Lewis acid sites for soybean oil-based biodiesel production.…”

“…The absorption band at a wavenumber of about 1100 cm -1 was the Si-O-Si asymmetrical vibration mode, while the absorption band at a wavenumber of around 800 cm -1 was the symmetrical one. The absorption band that appeared at a wavenumber of around 1230 and 547 cm -1 was the characteristic of the tetrahedral structure in a zeolite framework with MFI type (Mulyatun & Prasetyoko, 2011). The absorption band that appeared at a wavenumber of around 970 cm -1 was the characteristic of TS-1.…”
