“…In this study, the diagnosis was performed by trained examiners, as previously described by Lustosa et al (2020), and categorized in overall pediculosis, presence of nits, and active pediculosis. Overall pediculosis was determined by entomological evidence collection, including insects clues such nits, ecdysis, louse fragments, nymphs and adult lice, whereas active pediculosis was determined by the presence of mobile lice, such as nymphs and adults, regardless of whether they have presented nits to the hair or any other lice evidence.…”
