Abstract: Strongyloidiasis and coccidioidomycosis are caused by the helminth Strongyloides stercoralis and dimorphic fungi of the genus Coccidioides, respectively. Both may cause pulmonary infection associated with eosinophilia. Diagnoses rely on epidemiologic risk factors, serologic testing and bronchoscopy with bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL), which may reveal Strongyloides larvae and spherules of Coccidioides.
