Abstract: Abstract The utilisation of electrodialysis bipolar membranes to prepare hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide from a sodium chloride solution was tested at West Thurrock Power Station. The product chemicals were then used to regenerate full scale ion exchange units on the site and the results compared to normal operation with commercial regenerants.
