Abstract: KEYWORDSTwo clays rich in montmorillonite were modified and used as adsorbents. The clay minerals were modified with hexadecylpyridinium cation (HDP + ) in order to obtain organomontmorillonites, which were used for retaining acid black 210 dye from water solution.
