“…Recently, Li Pi et al published the only report stating that uncontrolled hyperthyroid patients with large goiters secondary to Graves' disease may develop edema of the upper airway [9]. Since the larynx and vocal cords of the patient were found to be edematous during the difficult intubation process, this may be regarded as the cause of the respiratory arrest.…”
