“…The present structure is similar to those of [(CO) 3 Tc] 2 TPP and its rhenium analogue [22] as well as that of CO 3 Re 2 TPP SbCl À 6 [23]. In those complexes the coordination geometry around the metal ion is octahedral.…”

“…The distortion is such that if one considers the mean 24-atom plane of the macrocycle, pyrrole ring 1 [N(1), C(1)-C(4)] is 'bent' towards the metal atoms to which it is coordinated while pyrrole ring 2 [N(2), C(6)-C(9)] lies almost in the mean plane. The angle between the least-squares planes of the two adjacent rings is 19°, similar to the 17.0°angle found in the rhenium(I) and technetium(I) analogues [22,23]. The involvement of N(2) in two coordination bonds might be expected to affect the double bond character of the C a -N(2) bonds, but the marginal quality of the data precludes any meaningful comparisons.…”

“…Direct labelling of TPP with 99 Tc 2 (CO) 10 has been carried out in decalin under reflux conditions, yielding a series of labelled porphyrins of the formula [Tc(CO) 3 ] n (porphyrin) ( n = 1 or 2), which were structurally characterized and shown to have three porphyrin nitrogens bound to the technetium carbonyl fragment. Similar complexes with a non‐radioactive rhenium isotope were also prepared . Recent preparations to directly label with the 99m Tc tricarbonyl core have been attempted to produce kinetically stable 99m Tc complexes of the water soluble 5,10,15,20‐ tetrakis(4‐sulfonatophenyl)porphyrin (TPPS 4 , Figure B) ligand.…”
