Uninterrupted Connectivity Using Conditional Time Split Energy Extraction With Beamforming System for Disaster Affected Wireless Networks

Abstract: The use of MIMO networks in wireless communication results in increased data rate but leads to severe interference issues and power losses. Promising beamforming (BF) architecture with Conditional Time split-Energy Extraction (CT-EE) is proposed to maximize the Energy Efficiency while optimizing the Mean Square Error (MSE) and Achievable Sum Rate (ASR). A distributed BF system using Minimum Mean Square Error algorithm is jointly implemented at all cooperating nodes. Energy Extraction (EE) from RF signal at the… Show more

“…On the other hand, authors in [113] promoted a heterogeneous fleet that includes untethered drones for cellular coverage, tethered drones for high-capacity backhauling, and untethered powering drones for charging. In [135] a novel beamforming architecture, based on conditional time splitenergy extraction (CT-EE) for enhancing nodes' autonomy, was presented and compared to conventional beamforming and other energy extraction methods.…”

“…To fully explore the performance of an mmWave massive MIMO system, the transmitter needs to know the channel state information (CSI) accurately [6]- [8], and this is challenging when the hybrid beamforming architecture is adopted. One reason for this is that the scale of the channel matrix increases with the number of antennas, estimating each entry independently through the conventional least squares (LS) technique requires an unacceptable amount of training overhead.…”
