Linear Lichen Planus Mimicking Creeping Eruption

“…The lesions of all cases occurred on only one side of the body, and the demarcations of the lesions at the midline of the body were remarkable in cases 1 and 9. This characteristic tendency of the eruptions resembles the lesions of zosteriform lichen planus (18,19) and unilateral lichen planus (20,21); although linear lichen planus may be occasionally zosteriform (22). The distribution of the lesion of our patient resembled the socalled Blaschko lines, which were described by Blaschko in 1901 as a pattern assumed by many different nevoid and acquired skin diseases on human skin and mucosa; they do not follow any known nervous, vascular or lymphatic structures in the skin (3).…”
