“…In contrast to the monometallic system, it is difficult to provide a straightforward explanation for these peaks that are typically observed in PtPd bimetallic systems. [ 47–50 ] This is because PtPt and PtPd bond distances are very similar to each other, as also reported in our fitting results. Nonetheless, it is possible to discuss the atomic coordination from the EXAFS spectrum.…”

“…It is worth mentioning that the XAS data of the Pd NPs with particle sizes of around 2 nm was collected under a helium flow to prevent potential oxidations. 43 Interestingly, Figure 1 shows only a minor change of the recycled catalyst C1 compared to the unused catalyst. On the other hand, recycled C2 displays XANES features that resembled those of the Pd NPs.…”

“…In our previous report, among various Pt 1 Fe 1– x NC CEs, Pt 1 Fe 9 NC CEs had the best performance rather than Pt 5 Fe 5 NC CEs. This difference could be attributed to the fact that Pd metal also acts as a catalyst toward redox reactions. As for Pt 1 Pd 1– x , it could be found in various catalysis and reduction reactions that the alloying composition of 50:50 has the best catalytic performance among other compositions. , Therefore, Pd metal may play a role with multiple functions rather than just assisting electron transfer in the Pt-based alloying CEs …”
