Two Independent Nuclear Localization Signals Are Present in the DNA-binding High-mobility Group Domains of SRY and SOX9

Abstract: Mammalian sex determination and early gonadal differentiation is a developmental process involving a cascade of regulatory gene interactions. Only a few of these genes, all encoding transcription factors, are known (reviewed in Ref. 1), among them the related genes SRY and SOX9.
