Tuning the Dimensions of C60‐Based Needlelike Crystals in Blended Thin Films

Abstract: A new ordered structure of the C60 derivative PCBM ([6‐6]‐phenyl C61‐butyric acid methyl ester) is obtained in thin films based on the blend PCBM:regioregular P3HT (poly(3‐hexylthiophene)). Rapid formation of needlelike crystalline PCBM structures of a few micrometers up to 100 μm in size is demonstrated by submitting the blended thin films to an appropriate thermal treatment. Exaggerated anticipatory anxiety is common in social anxiety disorder (SAD). Neuroimaging studies have revealed altered neural activity in response to social stimuli in SAD, but fewer studies have examined neural activity during anticipation of feared social stimuli in SAD. The current study examined the time course and magnitude of activity in threat processing brain regions during speech anticipation in socially anxious individuals and healthy controls (HC). Method Participants (SAD n = 58; HC n = 16) underwent functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) during which they completed a 90s control anticipation task and 90s speech anticipation task.

“…Zooming in on the homogeneous parts of the films of the 86 and 96% RR P3HT−PCBM blend samples, one can see bicontinuous networks of P3HT and PCBM under transmission electron microscopy (see Figure S5 in the Supporting Information).
