Triple Immunochromatographic System for Simultaneous Serodiagnosis of Bovine Brucellosis, Tuberculosis, and Leukemia

Abstract: An immunochromatographic test system has been developed for the simultaneous rapid multiplex serodiagnostics of bovine brucellosis, tuberculosis, and leukemia. The test system is based on the use of a conjugate of gold nanoparticles with the chimeric protein Cysteine-A/G and three analytical zones with immobilized pathogen antigens: Brucella abortus lipolysaccharide, recombinant proteins MPB64 and MPB83-MPB63 of Mycobacterium bovis, and recombinant protein p24 of the bovine leukemia virus. Prototypes of the te… Show more

“…The results of this study are not meant to challenge the current diagnosis for bovine tuberculosis and the performance of the current modified Z -N direct smear microscopy method as both a screening and confirmatory test. Our results provide some relevant information to guide the choice of potential laboratory tests for future use [31][32][33]. An exercise, that could be useful as part of the global strategy for elimination of tuberculosis.…”

“…Lateral flow immunoassay (LFIA) has been widely used in recent years as a mainstream instant diagnostic method due to its advantages of easy operation, low material cost, and fast detection speed [ 1 , 2 ]. It has been widely applied in medical diagnosis, food safety, environmental monitoring, and other fields [ 3 , 4 , 5 , 6 , 7 , 8 ]. Large molecular analytes such as proteins are typically tested using sandwich assays, while small molecule analytes such as drugs of abuse are analyzed using competitive or inhibitory assays [ 9 , 10 , 11 ].…”

“…The presence of antigen-specific immunoglobulins G (IgG sp ) is indicative of the organism’s previous exposure to the antigen . Serological point-of-care (POC) assays are needed to effectively assess the immune response of individuals to vaccination and the infection fatality risk of pathogens for the population. , They are also pivotal for monitoring the spread of zoonotic pathogens, such as coronavirus and monkeypox virus, in wildlife and domestic animals. …”
