Tribimaximal mixing in the SU(5)×T13 texture

Abstract: We extend the recently proposed SU (5) × T 13 model for the asymmetric texture to the up-type quark and Seesaw sectors. The hierarchical up-type quark masses are generated from higher-dimensional operators involving family-singlet Higgses, gauge-singlet familons, and vector-like messengers. The complex-Tribimaximal (TBM) Seesaw mixing arises from the vacuum structure of a minimal number of familons, resulting in an alignment between the Yukawa and Majorana matrices of the Seesaw formula. Introducing four right… Show more

“…In this paper we construct Y (− 1 3 ) and Y (−1) through the introduction of gauge-singlet familons which spontaneously break the family symmetry. We postpone the discussion of the familon vacuum structure until all familons contributing to the generation of the aforementioned mass matrices are known [16].…”

“…Neutrino physics may also require some new ideas to satisfy the current and future data. It was advocated in [35,36] that some discrete subgroups of G 2 , like scriptPscriptSscriptL2false(13false), might be useful for this purpose.…”

“…This is interesting since it is expected that neutrino physics will require an extension of the standard model. Some of these extensions might include discrete subgroups of G 2 ; see for example [35,36].…”

“…Previous approaches to flavor in SU(5) models by imposing discrete symmetries may be found, for example, in refs. [13][14][15][16][17][18]. There are also other approaches to flavor, which generally introduce new fields.…”
