Abstract: ABSTRACT. Three new species of the genus Chorisoneura (Blattellidae, Chorisoneuriinae) collected in Sphecidae nests (Hymenoptera) from Acre State, Brazil. Three new species of Chorisoneura Brunner, 1865 from Acre State, Brazil collected in nests of Podium Fabricius, 1804 (Hymenoptera, Sphecidae) are described. Illustrations of genitalia are presented.

ABSTRACT Fragmentation of natural vegetation often implies a reduction in local species richness and abundance. The resources used by bees and wasps for feeding and nesting are distributed quite irregularly in fragmented environments, which influences their foraging behavior, occurrence patterns and reproductive success. The objective of the present work was to determine if the size of native vegetation remnants influences the reproductive success of the solitary wasp species Trypoxylon (Trypargilum) lactitarse Saussure, 1867. Trap-nests were established along the edges of forest fragments of different sizes located in municipalities in the central region of the state of Goiás, Brazil. The nests were used to quantify nesting rate, number of cells with larvae, survival of larvae, proportion of nests attacked by parasitoids, and size of hatched adults. The foundation rate of trap-nests was greater in large fragments, whereas the mean number of cells per nest, parasitoidism rate, larval survival and sex ratios, and size of hatched adults did not differ between large and small fragments. Therefore, it appears that fragment size influences the survival or permanence of adults more so than it does that of the larvae in the studied fragments. There are two possible explanations for the difference in the foundation rate: 1) each female founds, in average, the same number of nests in small and large fragments, but the number of females is lower in the smaller fragments; 2) females have the capacity to provision several nests, but in the larger areas each female founds more nests than in smaller areas. However, it is necessary future studies to differentiate these two hypotheses.

Este artigo é um catálago atualizado das espécies de baratas registradas no Brasil. Ele traz uma lista de espécies, sua distribuição nos diferentes estados do país, a instituição na qual os tipos estão depositados e uma lista de referências atualizada. Os resultados indicam 644 (mais 3 incertae sedis) espécies, pertencentes a 6 famílias, 18 subfamílias e 107 gêneros atualmente reconhecidos. Os tipos destas espécies estão distribuídos em pelo menos 29 instituições. O estudo da distribuição das espécies nos diferentes estados mostra que muitas podem ser encontradas em todo o país, ainda que para 7,7 % das espécies apenas sabe-se que elas ocorrem no Brasil. Os estados com maior número de ocorrências foram Rio de Janeiro (169), Pará (132) e Amazonas (120) e os mais pobres foram os estados do Nordeste, onde a Caatinga e o Cerrado são os ecossistemas dominantes. Entretanto, o número de espécies parece fortemente associado com o esforço de pesquisa. A curva cumulativa de espécies indica um número marcadamente crescente de espécies descritas ao longo do tempo, a qual ainda está ascendente, sem tendência de estabilização. Esta informação, juntamente com os outros resultados, indica que a fauna de baratas do Brasil ainda é muito pouco conhecida e sugere que o número total de espécies no país pode ser pelo menos cinco ou seis vezes superior.

Phidon abismus sp. nov. from Patagonian forests of Argentina (Blattaria: Pseudophyllodromiidae)

Phidon abismus sp. nov. is described from north-western Patagonian forests in Argentina. The specimens were collected under dead tree bark of Austrocedrus chilensis, Nothofagus dombeyi and Nothofagus pumilio. A detailed description of the male including abdominal apex, genitalia, tegmen and wing venation and front femur armament type B2 is provided as well as a description of the A type oviparity. The genus Phidon is recorded from Argentina for the first time. The key of Rehn (1933) for the known males of the genus is updated.
